***This is a work in progress.***Abilities used in this guide will all be native to Carpenter. At the bottom of it, I will list recommendations of other crafts to get to about level 10 for the abilities.
Starting tool.
The only tool available to you will be the Weathered Saw, which can be bought in the Adventurer's Guild of all three cities, as well as other various NPCs.
Barryn, Ul'dah, (7 - 4)

Etgar, Ul'dah, (6 - 4)

Sysley, Limsa Lominsa, (5 - 5)
Thora, Limsa Lominsa, (1 - 1)
Tylswaen, Limsa Lominsa, (7 - 5)

Templeton, Gridania, (1 - 1)
Ulric, Gridania, (6 - 5)
Zagylhaemr, Gridania, (6 - 8 )
Carpenter, levels 1-5After obtaining your main hand tool, go to the city of your choice and do leves until you hit level 5. Any materials needed will be provided.
If you're unsure of how to craft, there is a tutorial leve you can accept, as well as another thread in the general info section of this forum you can use to learn.
Carpenter, levels 5-9Here, you can continue doing leves if you would like. Alternatively, you'll want to use the following two recipes for best results.
Ash Lumber. (1 Ash Log, 2 wind shards) (3 Ash Logs, 6 wind shards) {Level 11 synth}
The first synth creates 1 lumber, the second creates three. For more EXP, use the first, for more lumber, use the second.
Ash Macuahuitl. (1 Ash Lumber, 2 Obsidian, 1 wind shard, 3 ice shards) {Level 11 Synth}
At level 8 you'll be able to use the next tool available to you, the Bronze Saw. This is best made by level 5+ Blacksmiths, and available in the Merchant Wards. (Tool recipes will be added in another thread, if requested enough)
Carpenter, levels 9-14At level 10, you learn the ability Tender Touch. This lowers the amount of durability lost for the next 3 steps of the synth. Best used when using Standard or Careful Syntheses 3+ times in a row. Do NOT use wait while active, it will waste one of the turns the ability is active.
At level 11 you can get your first secondary tool, the Bronze Claw Hammer. This is best made by level 9+ Blacksmiths.
Elm Lumber. (1 Elm Log, 2 wind shards) (3 Elm Logs, 6 wind shards)
Carpenter, levels 14-22At level 16, you can upgrade your main tool again, to the Chocobotail Saw. This is best made by level 15+ Goldsmiths.
At level 20 you can upgrade your off-hand tool, to the Iron Claw Hammer. This is best made by level 19+ Blacksmiths.
Walnut Lumber. (1 Walnut Log, 2 wind shards) (3 Walnut Logs, 6 wind shards)
or
Yew Lumber (1 Yew Log, 2 wind shards)*This is preferred, as you'll use Yew Lumber later on in this guide, and you'll be using a lot of it. **Start from 16+ making this
Carpenter, levels 22-26At level 23 you can upgrade your main hand tool, to the Bas-relief Iron Saw, which is best made by level 23+ Blacksmiths.
Elm Macuahuitl (1 Elm Lumber, 3 Obsidian, 2 wind shards, 6 ice shards)
Carpenter, levels 26-33At level 28 you can upgrade your main hand tool, to the Iron Chocobotail Saw, which is best made by level 28+ Blacksmiths.
At level 31 you can upgrade your off-hand tool to the Steel Claw Hammer, which is best made by level 30+ Blacksmiths.
Oak Lumber (1 Oak Log, 2 wind shards)
And
Dated Oak Halfmask (1 Oak Lumber, 3 wind shards, 3 earth shards)
Carpenter, levels 33-40At level 34 you can upgrade your main hand tool, to the Crosscut Saw, which is best made by Blacksmiths level 35+
At level 39 you can upgrade your main hand tool again, to the Mythril Saw, which is best made by Blacksmiths level 40+
Dated Yew Halfmask (1 Yew Lumber, 3 wind shards, 3 ice shards)
